Behind the Brand is a series where we introduce you to the people, stories and passion behind the local brands listed on We R Local.
Every brand has a story to tell, and we believe our local brands deserve to be celebrated. Through this series, we hope you’ll get to know these brands on a more personal level, discover what makes them special, and see the real difference you can make when you choose to support local.
The next brand we are excited to introduce is Pimp-Your-Gin, owned by Bronwyn Ablett.
This is Bronwyn’s “DIY- Pimp-Your- Gin Story – My Covid survival creation.”
The idea sprang from some gifts I bought in 2019 for friends who are avid Gin drinkers; I found a small box at the local bottle store at Christmas that had 4 different dried ingredients to add to their gins.
It was a master stroke, they all wanted more, only to find they were not being imported any more. So I decided to create some .
In the initial Black box, you will find 8 ingredients that may change according to seasons, but there will always be 8. Over time, I have created a few different gifting options.
Inside is a cheat card to help them decide which Garnish goes with what gin.
All boxes are hand made locally, from recycled cardboard and Botanicals from a Farm in the Cape that dries them organically no sulphur.
There is a best before date on the Belly band or card and we are proudly South African.
